Zottegem is a municipality located in Belgium and more particularly in Flanders, in the province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Zottegem proper and the towns of Elene , Erwetegem , Godveerdegem , Grotenberge , Leeuwergem , Oombergen , Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove , Sint-Maria-Oudenhove , Strijpen and Velzeke-Ruddershove . On January 1st, 2000 Zottegem had a total population of 24,574 (11,960 males and 12,614 females). The total area is 57.39 kmē which gives a population density of 428.19 inhabitants per kmē.
