Zend Technologies Ltd., a leading Web infrastructure software company founded in Israel, is the internationally recognized authority in PHP. The company provides a complete platform that enables the rapidly growing market of PHP-enabled enterprises to Develop, Protect and Scale their PHP applications.

Zend’s founders are the designers of PHP 4 and the Zend Engine 1.0; on which all PHP sites and applications are run. Zend is also currently leading the design and development of PHP 5 and the Zend Engine 2.0. Zend is a portmanteau of the names of its founders, Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans. Both Zeev and Andi, along with much of the company, are graduates of the world renowned Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
