Zane Lowe, a radio DJ, currently with BBC Radio 1, was born in New Zealand. He worked for many years in alternative music broadcast on London's XFM before starting work for the BBC. He currently presents the evening slot from 19:00 to 21:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, where he plays a variety of music from the alternative scene, including rock, punk, drum and bass, and UK hip hopHip hop is a cultural movement that began amongst urban , African American & Puerto Rican youth in New York and has since spread around the world. The four main elements of hip-hop are MCing, DJing, graffiti art, and breakdancing. Some consider beatboxing.
