ZOOM is a television show that aired on PBS between 1972 and 1979. There is also a new version of the show, also on PBS, which premiered in 1999 and is still in production. Both versions of the show are produced by WGBH-TV in Boston.

1 Overview

ZOOM encourages kids to "turn off the TV and do it!" On the show, a cast of seven children perform various activities, such as games and plays. The show is unique in that it is made completely with viewer contributions of games, poetry, brainteasers, jokes, recipes, and science experiments. There is also a language game on the show, called Ubbi Dubbi.

Starring seven everyday kids, this series is built to inspire kids to be active investigators, creators and program solvers. The show's "SciZOOM" segment encourages viewers to try the activities shown on ZOOM themselves, and send in their results.

The show is meant to encourage five to-eleven-year-olds to become more curious, investigative and solve problems.
