The film's story is a parody of the horror film genre, primarily, of course, of the various film versions of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. The grandson (Wilder) of the famous mad scientistA mad scientist is a stock character of popular fiction, either villainous, or benignly unconscious and scatter-brained. Whether insane, eccentric, or simply bumbling, the mad scientists are usually working with some utterly fictional technology in order, who insists that his name is pronounced "Fronkensteen", is a respected lecturer at an American medical school and is more or less happily engaged (to Kahn). While on a trip to his ancestral home to attend to his family's estate, he is inspired by the household servants (Leachman and Feldman) and his grandfather's journals to pick up where his grandfather left off. Wackiness ensues.

She was a regular in the two variety flops " Our Place" ( 1967) an -- being renamed Old Dracula for North American release.
