At the beginning of the episode, Angel, Wesley, Fred, and Gunn are looking for a client who is missing. The firm ( Wolfram & Hart) was defending him on a minor racketeering charge, but he decided to escape to an alternate dimension rather than face trial...the ritualA ritual is a formalised, predetermined set of symbolic actions generally performed in a particular environment at a regular, recurring interval. The set of actions that comprise a ritual often include, but are not limited to, such things as recitation, s he performed involved killing several nunA nun is a woman who takes monastic vows. In the Catholic tradition, these are typically vows of stability (that is, to remain a member of a single monastic community), obedience (to an abbess or prioress), and "conversion of life" (which includes the ides. As the gang realizes this, Angel vocally wonders if they can continue to operate doing business with creatures like this. Away from the group, there is an intense flash of images and a moment later CordeliaBuffy characters Angel (series) characters Cordelia Chase is a fictional character in the television shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel''. Cordelia is played by Charisma Carpenter. The Buffy Years Cordelia was originally introduced as a cheerleader wakes up from her coma.

Back at the office, Angel continues to debateDebate is a formalized system of (usually) logical argument. It is a rule-governed contest with two or more sides, presided by a judge. Each side is attempting to win the approval of a designated audience, such as a judge. Debate is a highly organized act the wisdomWisdom is often meant as the ability and desire to make choices that can gain approval in a long-term examination by many people. In this sense, to label a choice "wise" implies that the action or inaction was strategically correct when judged by widely-h of their decision to run Wolfram & hart with the gang. He is interrupted by a phoneThe telephone or phone is a telecommunications device that transmits speech by means of electric signals. Generally attributed to the inventor Alexander Graham Bell, the first was built in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1876. However, an Italian inventor Anton call, which informs him that Cordelia has woken up. He and Wesley hurry over to the hospitalA hospital today is a centre for professional health care provided by physicians and nurses. During the Middle Ages it could serve other functions, such as almshouse for the poor, or hostel for pilgrims. The name comes from Latin hospes (host), which is a, where they see a woman lying on the bed. Before they enter the room far enough to see her face, Cordelia comes from behind a curtain, looking very well for someone who has been in a comaFor other meanings of the word "coma", especially in astronomy, see coma (disambiguation In medicine, a coma is a profound state of unconsciousness, which may result from a variety of conditions including intoxication ( drug, alcohol or toxins), metabolic for months. The two ascertain that this is the real Cordelia, rather than the entity that had taken over her body in the previous season. Satisfied that she actually has woken up, the proceed to inform her of all the changes that have happened without her. Cordelia is understandably confused and questions Angel repeatedly about his decisions.

Cordelia reaquaints herself with the other members of the group, but stays close to Angel. She tells Angel that she had a vision where Angel was in great danger...and something about tattoos. She has a rather pointed conversation with Eve, to whom she refers as " Lilah Jr." After this, Eve makes a phone call to her boyfriend Lindsey (who at this point in the season is pretending to be Doyle and is fabricating missions for Spike). Lindsey tells Spike that Cordelia has been taken over by a demon intent on enslaving mankind (the arc from the previous season) and tells Spike that he must stop her. Spike goes to the Wolfram & Hart offices and bites Cordelia, as a taste test. Angel intervenes and threatens Spike, but Spike says that Cordelia doesn't taste evil (and adds that Demons have an astringent , oaky flavor). Convinced that Cordelia is good, Spike mentions that "tattoo-boy" must have been wrong, and Cordelia catches the reference. This sets the gang down the path of discovering what was behind the vision...namely, that Lindsey was intent on destorying Angel with a beast in the basement of the building. With help from Spike & Cordelia (as well as a magic spell cast by Wesley with Fred and blood from Lorne), Angel is able to defeat Lindsey. After his tattoos are removed, the senior partners take custody of Lindsey.

At the end of the episode, Angel feels a renewed sense of purpose and is relieved to have Cordelia back at his side. At this point, Cordelia makes cryptic remarks about how she'd like to stay but it is just not her path anymore. She explains that the Powers That Be owed her a favor , and she is happy that was able to use it to get Angel back on track. However, she is sad that she must now leave forever. Angel does not understand, but before she leaves Cordelia gives Angel a passion ate kiss. They are interrupted by a ringing phone, which Cordelia tells Angel he must answer. As he goes to pick up the phone, Cordelia says "Oh...and you're welcome!" When Angel picks up the phone, only his dialogue is revealed but clearly the person on the other end is informing him of Cordelia's death. Angel doesn't understand, but when he turns around Cordelia is gone. Her reappearance was some sort of astral projection, and she had never actually woken up from her coma. As this realization sinks in, Angel simply mutters "Thank You..."
