Yorkdale Shopping Centre is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the former City of North York, and in the community of Downsview. The mall was opened in 1964 and was the first to include two major Canadian department stores, Simpson's and Eaton's, under the same roof. The mall is served by two metro expressways, W.R. Allen Road(Spadina Expwy.) and Highway 401. The mall can also be reached through a turnaround ramp on Dufferin St., south of Wilson Avenue. The TTC subway also has a station adjacent to the mall. Yorkdale endured a major overhaul in 1999, adding a Rainforest CafeRainforest Cafe is a themed restaurant owned by Landry's Restaurants, Inc. in Houston, Texas. Two locations are in Disney themeparks, at the Disneyland Resort and at in Walt Disney World.
