Iakov Borisovich Zeldovich (Я́ков Бори́сович Зельдо́вич, March 8, 1914 – December 2, 1987) was a Soviet physicist working in the fields of shock waves, cosmology, and general relativity.He won the Bruce Medal in 1983 and the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1984.
