Xin Hua Daily was the first public newspaper published by the Community Party of China. On 1 November in 1938, it was established in Wuhan by the revolutionists such as Zhou Enlai. On 28 February 1947, the publication of Xin Hua Daily was forbidden by Kuomintang. On 23 April 1949 of the liberation of Nanjing, Xin Hua Daily was officially published. The newspaper reports economic, social and political events in Jiangsu province. Until now, the total circulation is 470000.



In spring 1999, the President of the People's Republic of China, Jiang Zemin wrote a calligraphy for the celebration of 50 Anniversary of <> in Nanjing.
