XPath 2.0 is a language for addressing portions of XML documents, designed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). It is the successor of the W3C recommendation XPath 1.0. XPath 2.0 currently owns working draft status, but its main parts are stable. It is much more complex, voluminous and powerful than its predecessor. It is part of the specifications of XQuery 1.0 and XSLT 2.0 .External links
