Wyoming is a village located in Wyoming County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village has a total population of 513.

The Village of Wyoming was incorporated in 1916. It lies within the Town of Middlebury by the eastern town line.

The village is located on Route 19.

1 Geography

Wyoming is located at 42°49'31" North, 78°5'7" West (42.825204, -78.085227) 1.

Oatka Creek flows northward past the east side of the village.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 513 people, 176 households, and 133 families residing in the village. The population density is 295.6/km² (763.2/mi²). There are 179 housing units at an average density of 103.2/km² (266.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.88% White, 0.39% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.97% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census. There are 176 households out of which 44.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
