The Village of Wyoming was incorporated in 1916. It lies within the Town of Middlebury by the eastern town line.

The village is located on Route 19.

1 Geography

Wyoming is located at 42°49'31" North, 78°5'7" West (42.825204, -78.085227) ¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

2 Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 513 people, 176 households, and 133 families residing in the village. The population density is 295.6/km² (763.2/mi²). There are 179 housing units at an average density of 103.2/km² (266.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.88% White, 0.39% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.97% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census. There are 176 households out of which 44.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families. Precise definitions vary historically and between and within cultures, but it has been an important concept as a socially sanctioned bond between people who (usually) are living together, 10.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.4% are non-families. 17.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.90 and the average family size is 3.33.
