Wonalancet is an area in New Hampshire in the United States comprised of parts of several towns ( Tamworth, Sandwich, Albany, and Waterville). Many popular hiking trails into the Sandwich Range of the White Mountains have trailheads in the area. The most popular of these is located at Ferncroft, New Hampshire .
The area is named for a sachem of the Penacooks who was the son of Passaconaway . He was chief from the time of his father's death in 1679 until his death in 1697.
