Wolof is a language spoken in Senegal, Gambia and Mauritania. Iso639-code: WOL. It belongs to the Atlantic branch of the Niger-Congo language family. Some phrases:

- Thank you - Jerejef.
- Good Bye - Be beneen yon.
- Red, pink - Honq (possible etymology of " honky ," a US slang term for a white person.
The term "Wolof" is also used to indicate the ethnic group that uses the language.
