Wigan Warriors are a professional rugby league club based in Wigan, England. They play in the Super League.They wear cherry and white hooped shirts, and play at the JJB Stadium . They are owned by Dave Whelan , who also owns Wigan Athletic F.C. and JJB Sports .
Prior to the founding of the Super League, Wigan dominated British rugby league but have not had quite as much success since.
Wigan are also known as 'the pie eaters' a reference to a strike in the 1920s when Wigan miners were forced to eat 'humble pie' and return to work before miners in other towns.
