Whitworth is a small village in County Durham, centred around Whitworth Hall. It is on the road between Spennymoor and Brancepeth, and close to Tudhoe. Whitworth Hall (now a hotel) was in former times the home of the Shafto family , whose most famous member (from the 18th century) was "Bonny Bobby" Shafto , subject of a famous English nursery rhyme.
