Weber County is a county located in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2000 census, the population is 196,533, an increase of 24.1% over its population in 1990. Its county seat and largest city is Ogden.
The county was formed[1] on March 3, 1852 and named after Weber River , which in turn was named for John Henry Weber (1779-1859), a fur trapper and trader in the area in the mid- 1820s.
The county's eastern boundary is the backbone of the Wasatch Range. It extends west into the Great Salt Lake. The Weber and Ogden rivers and their tributaries run through its valleys.
