Water-elm Planera aquatica is single species in the southeastern U.S.A., a small deciduous tree similar to an ElmElms are deciduous trees of the genus Ulmus family Ulmaceae. There are between 20 to 45 species of but with a small prickly berry instead of a dry, winged seed. It grows, as the name suggests, on wet sites.
