Wartburg College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America located in Waverly, Iowa. Most popular majors include business administration , biology, elementary education, communication arts , music education / music therapy.

1 History

Wartburg College was founded in 1852 at Saginaw, Michigan, by Georg Grossmann , a native of Neuendettelsau , Bavaria. Georg was sent by Pastor Wilhelm Löhe to establish a teacher training school for German immigrants. The location of the college moved many times until permanently settling in Waverly in 1935.
