Warren County is a county located in the U.S. State of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population is 92,522. Its county seat is Bowling Green 6.

1 Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,419 km˛ (548 mi˛). 1,412 km˛ (545 mi˛) of it is land and 6 km˛ (2 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.45% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 92,522 people, 35,365 households, and 23,411 families residing in the county. The population density is 66/km˛ (170/mi˛). There are 38,350 housing units at an average density of 27/km˛ (70/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 86.98% White, 8.58% Black or African American, 0.24% Native American, 1.35% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 1.33% from other races, and 1.45% from two or more races. 2.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 35,365 households out of which 31.40% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.40% are married couples living together, 11.20% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.80% are non-families. 26.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.30% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.97.

In the county the population is spread out with 23.10% under the age of 18, 16.20% from 18 to 24, 29.10% from 25 to 44, 21.10% from 45 to 64, and 10.50% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 96.20 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.00 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $36,151, and the median income for a family is $45,142. Males have a median income of $32,063 versus $22,777 for females. The per capita income for the county is $18,847. 15.40% of the population and 10.80% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.80% of those under the age of 18 and 13.80% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
