Walter Salles (born April 12, 1956) is a Brazilian filmmaker. Two of his films were produced by Arthur Cohn, one of which ("Central do Brasil", English title: "Central Station") received an Oscar award. His most recent film is Diarios de motocicleta (English title: The Motorcycle Diaries), a film about the life of young Ernesto Guevara, who later became known as Che Guevara.
