Walter Robinson Parr was a preacher at St. Paul Congregational Church in Chicago, Illinois, where he befriended Elias Disney. Disney named his fourth son, Walter Elias Disney, after Parr.Son of Alexander and Matilda (Richards) Parr was born in Liverpool, England on May 3, 1871. He graduated from Beloit Academy in 1891. Then from Beloit College in 1895 and the Chicago Theological Seminary in 1898. He received the degrees of M.A. from Beloit College and B.D. from Chicago Theological Seminary. He was the author of "Unrest," a book published in 1915. He was married on August 9, 1898 to Mary H. Weasel, who, with seven children, survived him. He died on March 24, 1922, at Lewiston, Idaho, of influenza and pneumonia.
