Walker, Texas Ranger was a television show that ran from April, 1993 to May, 2001 during primetime on CBS. The show emphasized values such as abstaining from the use of drugs and participation in community service; it was also once considered to be the most violent show on television. Martial Arts are shown prominently as the primary tool of law enforcement (albeit falsely) and occasionally as a tool for Walker and company to reach out to the community.

The show stars Chuck Norris as a Texas Ranger named Cordell Walker, who lives in modern Dallas, Texas. The Police Deparment he works in is the Department of Public Saftey.
