WWWQ FM ("Q100", 100.5 MHz) is an Atlanta radio station that plays a diverse range of top 40 music, including rock and hip-hop. It is owned and operated by Susquehanna Radio , from the same building as its other Atlanta holding, WNNX FM (99X).

1 History

Q100 has been in metro Atlanta, licensed to College Park only since early 2002. Until then, it was in eastern Alabama as country music station Alabama 100 (WHMA-FM), licensed to Anniston.

Susquehanna originally proposed that the station be licensed to Sandy Springs, and remain at 100,000 wattThe watt (symbol: W is the SI derived unit for power. It is equivalent to 1 joule per second (1 J/s), or in electrical units, 1 volt- ampere (1 V · A). It is the rate in joules per second at which energy is being converted, used or dissipated. Equations :s ERPIn radio telecommunications, effective radiated power or ERP is determined by subtracting system losses from system gains. ERP is typically applied to antenna systems. For example, if an antenna system has +9dB gain and −6dB loss, its ERP is +3dB ov ( class CThis is the list of broadcast station classes . The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 as the successor to the Federal Radio Commi eventually denied the request for this reason. The second and much weaker reason was that Sandy Springs is not incorporated, despite the fact that this is only due to political reasons in the state legislatureThe Georgia General Assembly is the state legislature of the U. state of Georgia. External links, and that many other stations are licensed to unincorporated communities. The second proposal was approved due to both a change in city of license, and in the class of station from C1 (up to 100kW) down to to C3 (up to 25kW) to avoid WSSL-FM.

The move left two new radio stations in Alabama, but forced WGHR and W264AE off the air in the Atlanta area. The FCC later upgraded the new station from a 3kW class C3 to a 27kW class C2, and the station moved from the WZGC FM tower to its own, then to another for the upgrade. Neither tower is the same as sister station WNNX FM has listed.
