WPBA TV (channel 30, DTV 21) is one of two Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) affiliates in metro Atlanta. The callsign stands for Public Broadcasting Atlanta, and it is counterpart to WABE FM 90.1, the local National Public Radio station. Both are licensed to and operated by the Atlanta Board of Education , and hold Atlanta as their city of license. It typically turns its transmitter off late at night (generally 1-5 am), but can still be seen on some cable TV systems. It is the only PBS station in Georgia which is not run by Georgia Public BroadcastingGeorgia Public Broadcasting GPB is the statewide network of Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR) affiliates in the U. state of Georgia.
