Prior to its current designation, the frequency was occupied by Cox Radio's WALR-FM, the R&B format "Kiss 105" from the mid- 1990s until 2000. In late 2000, Kiss merged with and moved to 104.1 as "Kiss 104", to make room for Christian "105 the Fish". This was an asset exchange between Cox and Salem Communications , which now owns and operates WFSH-FM.
