It has existed since at least the 1970s. Back then, it simulcasted with an AM station, WALR-AM . In the mid- 1980s, it became a separate station of R&B called WEKS "Urban Kiss 104". Then, in 1989, it changed to a country station WYAI "Y-104", simulcasting with another Atlanta FM radio station. Then, in 1994, the simulcast went away and it became WJZF "Jazz Flavors 104". Then, in 2000, the station became an R&B station, WALR-FM "Kiss 104". Finally, in early 2003, the station changed to R&B oldies .
