Ville Hermanni Valo (born November 22, 1976) is the vocalist, songwriter and frontman of the Finnish love metal band HIM.Valo grew up in Helsinki. His father works in a sex shop and his mother is Hungarian. He has a younger brother named Jesse, a Thai boxer. In his youth he played instruments such as bass and drums in many bands until he, together with friends, formed the band HIM in 1995. He is the vocalist in HIM and writes most of the band's songs. He is also the frontman of the band. He has said in an interview that this is the way the other band members want it to be, they just want to play their instruments.
