Valkyrie Profile was a computer role-playing game (RPG) developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix (now Square Enix). It was released in Japan on December 22, 1999, and later translated and released in the U.S. on August 29, 2000.

The game is based off Norse mythology. Players assume the role of a Valkyrie who must find the souls of people who die tragic deaths, and shape them into powerful warriors post-mortem for the final apocalyptic battle between gods and the giants, Ragnarok.
