The Law Students’ Society is a dynamic body of students who remain focused upon the promotion of the legal profession in Australia.
Background to the Law Program at Wollongong University
The option to study law at the University of Wollongong is increasingly becoming the first choice of many students who have recently finished the Higher School Certificate, and those individuals who are wishing to complete or further add to their tertiary study.
Part of the popularity of this course of study at Wollongong stems from the recent success of the University being awarded University of the Year in Australia for 1999, 2000, 2001, but also it is the flexible, student based approaches offered by the University that appear to be attracting students.
The chance to study law in a fresh and innovative environment together with a philosophy based on openness and approachability has successfully attracted school leavers, and graduates alike.
Students can choose to combine their Bachelor of Laws with a diverse range of disciplines, including Arts, Commerce, Computer Science, Exercise Science , Creative Arts , Information and Communication Technology , Mathematics and Science several of which are offered at no other tertiary institution in New South Wales. The range of degree choices for students is only one element that makes up the remarkable dynamics of the law student body. Indeed the University of Wollongong does not attract regional residents only, but attracts students with a diverse range of backgrounds. Many students travel from Sydney City, Sydneys Southern suburbs, as well as nationally and internationally to study law at the University of Wollongong. The Law Students’ Society has recognised the diversity of the student body, and it is this very element upon which the Society is set to focus upon during 20042004 is a leap year starting on Thursday (the link is to a full 2004 calendar), and has also been designated the: International Year of Rice International Year to Commemorate the Struggle against Slavery and its Abolition Elections are to be held in 73 co.
