The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is one of four universities in Montreal, Quebec.

The university is a branch of the Université du Québec, a public institution with branches in many Quebec cities. It was created on April 9, 1969 by the government of Quebec, through the merger of the École de Beaux-Arts de Montréal, the Collège Sainte-Marie, and a number of smaller schools.

Its campus is located in downtown Montreal, with most of its buildings in the Quartier Latin neighbourhood around Berri-UQAM metro station, to which it is connected via the underground city.
