The town Uherske Hradiste (population 26,460) lies by the river Morava in the Zlínský kraj (region) in the south-eastern part of the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1257 by the Czech king Premysl Ottokar II.

Uherske Hradiste is twinned with Bridgwater in England.
