Uberfic (short for Uber fanfic or simply Uber) is a kind of elseworlds fanfic in which characters or events are potrayed somewhat closely to original canon but usually in a different time period, sometimes featuring the ancestors or descendants of canon characters. The term was coined among the Xena fandom in reference to a few early episodes which featured characters similar to the two female leads in a 'modern' setting.
