One of the UK's largest TV companies, UKTV a joint venture between the BBC's commercial arm BBC Worldwide, and the cable television company Flextech. UKTV's channels are available via satellite and cable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. In the UK, on digital terrestrial television, UKTV History and UKTV BrightIdeas are available on the Freeview platform, and selected parts of UKTV Gold, UKTV Style and UKTV Food are available through Top Up TV.Most programmes on UKTV's channels consist of repeat broadcasts of BBC productions (although the entertainment channels also feature programmes made by other companies) often - especially in the case of documentaries - abridged for commercial timing and the channels themselves are operated by BBC Broadcast (A wholly owned subsidiary of the BBC,) and played out from BBC Television Centre in London.

- UKTV HistoryUK History was launched on 30th October 2002, to coincide with the launch of the Freeview digital terrestrial television platform. Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to "UKTV" on 8th March 2004 and is thus now known as UKTV Hi (formerly UK History)
- UKTV PeopleUKTV People was launched on 8th March 2004. Along with UKTV Documentary it was a replacement for the channel UK Horizons, which closed the day before. The channel is a member of the UKTV network of channels. The channel is available on Satellite ( BSkyB)
- UKTV StyleUK Style was launched on 1st November 1997. Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to "UKTV" on 8th March 2004 and is thus now known as UKTV Style The channel is available on Satellite ( BSkyB) and Cable platforms. A partial servi (formerly UK Style)

- UK HorizonsUK Horizons was a British television channel operated by UKTV showing mainly BBC documentaries. Most programmes were abridged for commercial timing purposes. It took its name from the BBC series Horizon which formed a staple of its output in the early yea - closed to create UKTV People and UKTV Documentary

UK Horizons and UK Arena were named after the BBC's flagship science and arts documentaries, Horizon and Arena.
Note that there was a channel called UK Living that was originally affiliated with UK Gold but did not become part of the UKTV network, it changed its name to LivingTV before the UKTV network launched
