UKTV Drama was launched as UK Arena on 1st November 1997. Originally being the new UKTV network's arts channel, ratings were disappointing and was relaunched on 31st March 2000 as UK Drama, with a focus on showing dramas. Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to "UKTV" on 8th March 2004.
The channel is available on Satellite ( BSkyB) and Cable platforms.
The output of the channel is mainly Drama miniseries from the BBC archive.
