Tuxedo (Transactions for Unix, Enhanced for distributed Operation) is a middleware platform used to manage distributed transaction processing in distributed computing environments.

It was originally developed and designed by AT&T in the seventies for the creation and administration of e-commerce online transaction processing ( OLTP) systems.

Currently, Tuxedo is the property of Bea Systems.
