Town Line is a census-designated place and location located primarily in the Town of Lancaster in Erie County, New York. As of the 2000 census, this community had a total population of 2,521. It also is in the Town of Alden.

1 Geography

Town Line is located at 42°53'6" North, 78°33'30" West (42.884974, -78.558428) 1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the area has a total area of 12.0 km² (4.6 mi²). 12.0 km² (4.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 2,521 people, 906 households, and 759 families residing in the community. The population density is 209.8/km² (543.5/mi²). There are 925 housing units at an average density of 77.0/km² (199.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 99.29% White, 0.00% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other racesThe United States Census Bureau uses the federal government's definitions of race when performing a census. There are 906 households out of which 32.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.4% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
