Tony Currie ( 1 January 1950 - ) was an English football player, born in Edgware, London, who went on to play for Sheffield United and England.

He began his career at Watford and was transferred in February 1968 to Sheffield United, for whom he made 313 appearances and scored 55 goals as a midfield player.

During his time at United, he broke into the England team, winning the first of his 17 caps and also playing in the dramatic World Cup qualifier against Poland, which was held at Wembley StadiumWembley Stadium is a football stadium in Wembley, London, England, which is currently being rebuilt. His career came to an end in 1985 at Torquay United, when a serious knee injury forced him to retire.

His nephew, Darren Currie , also a midfielder, currently plays for Brighton & Hove Albion, having previously played for numerous clubs including Wycombe Wanderers, Barnet and Plymouth Argyle.
