Todd Rundgren (born June 22, 1948) is a musician, songwriter and record producer born in Upper Darby, a suburb of Philadelphia.

He is the founder of the bands Nazz and Utopia , and has produced albums for Meat Loaf, Patti Smith, The Tubes, XTC, Badfinger, Jim Steinman, Grand Funk Railroad, Ian and Sylvia and many others.

During the years 1978-1985, he produced four studio albums in a row done 100% without the use of other musicians, including one without instruments.
