Todd Carty (born August 31, 1968 in Ireland) is a British actor.

His first television appearance in the UK was in an advertisement for Woolworths. Since then he has had a number of notable roles in British television shows, particularly as Tucker in Grange Hill in the 1980s, as Mark Fowler in EastEnders from 1990 to 2004 and most recently (as of October 2004) as Gabriel Kent in The BillThe Bill is a long-running British police drama shown on ITV1. It also screens in Australia and New Zealand. It is set in the Sun Hill district of the fictional London borough of Canley. The Bill is somewhat unique among police shows: it takes a serial fo from 2004 onwards. He has also had a number of small roles and voiceover parts.

Carty's role in EastEnders was critically acclaimed: he was one of the first actors to portray someone living with HIVThe Human immunodeficiency virus HIV is a frequently mutating retrovirus that attacks the human immune system and which has been shown to cause acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).
