Terry Goodkind (born 1948) is an American fantasy writer, author of the Sword of Truth series. Currently the following books have been released:

The 2001 Legends anthology, edited by Robert Silverberg, features a short story, " Debt of Bones," set a few decades before the events in the main series. Later the same year, it was published as a stand-alone novella.

Goodkind's works have been deeply influenced by Ayn Randpostage stamp honoring Rand. Ayn Rand ( February 2, 1905 March 6, 1982; first name rhymes with "mine"), born Alissa "Alice" Zinovievna Rosenbaum was a controversial American novelist and philosopher, most famous for her philosophy of Objectivism, and her's objectivismObjectivism (capitalized) is the name chosen by Ayn Rand for her philosophy. She characterized it as a philosophy "for living on earth"; that is, grounded in objective reality and aiming to facilitate moral interaction among humans, as well as between hum.
