Terrist (less commonly terraist) is a neologism referring to environmentalists who engage in actions considered by some to be terrorism, including violent destruction of property as well as various types of nonviolent direct action.

The word is a portmanteau of Terra, a name for Earth, with the word terrorism.

In addition to being a self-applied label for some environmentalists, the word has also been used (sometimes within the context of environmentalism and sometimes not) as a humorous reference to the way George W. Bush has pronounced terrorism.
