Tenterfield is a town in New South Wales, Australia.Tenterfield is located in the north of the state, in the New England region. It is very close to the border of Queensland, leading to it being a centre for the promotion of Federation of the Australian States.
Sir Henry Parkes delivered his Federation Speech here in 1889 while en route from Brisbane to Sydney, ultimately leading to Federation on 1 January 1901.

- The entertainer Peter AllenPeter Allen ( February 10, 1944 June 18, 1992) was an Australian songwriter and singer. Born Peter Allen Woolnough in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Allen began his performing career as one of the "Allen Brothers" who were a popular cabaret and television, who was born in and spent much of his childhood in Tenterfield, where he lived with his grandfather George Woolnough (see below).
