Home > Temperate

In geography, temperate latitudes of the globe lie between the tropics and the polar circles. The north temperate zone extends from the Tropic of Cancer at about 23.5 degrees north latitude to the Arctic Circle at about 66.5 degrees north latitude. The south temperate zone extends from the Tropic of Capricorn at about 23.5 degrees south latitude to the Antarctic Circle at about 66.5 degrees south Latitude.

Regions with a temperate climate are usually characterized by having roughly equally long winters and summers. Temperature extremes are uncommon in temperate climates but do occur in regions also affected by continental climate.

Vegetation in temperate climates is varied, as some species adapted to colder, subarctic climates as well as those adapted to warmer, subtropical climates may survive here at the outer limit of their temperature tolerances. Leaf bearing treeThis article is about the biological organisms known as trees. For other meanings of the word see tree (disambiguation). oak tree in Denmark A tree can be defined as a large perennial woody plant. Though there is no set definition of size, it is generallys dominate this climate close to the coastal regions and fernPteridophyta, the Ferns ''Tree fern Scientific classification Kingdom: Plantae Division: Pteridophyta Classes Marattiopsida Osmundopsida Gleicheniopsida Pteridopsida Fern or pteridophyte is any one of a group of some twenty thousand species of plants class dominate the northern region as well as some inland parts.

In virologyVirology is the study of viruses and their properties. Properties include: Viral replication Viral pathogenesis Viral immunology Viral vaccines Diagnostic methods Antiviral chemotherapy Infection control measures Virus outbreaks See also molecular biology, temperate refers to the life cycle a phageA phage (also called bacteriophage is a small virus that infects only bacteria. Like viruses that infect eukaryotes, phages consist of an outer protein hull and the enclosed genetic material (which consists of double-stranded DNA in 95% of the phages know is able to perform. The phage ususually integrates its genomeGenome is also a popular science book by Matt Ridley. In biology, the genome of an organism is a complete DNA sequence of one set of chromosomes; for example, one of the two sets that a diploid individual carries in every somatic cell. When people say tha into its host chromosome, becoming a prophageA prophage is a temperate phage in its integrated status. Its genome can be integrated into the bacterial host chromosome or exists as an extrachromosomal plasmid. When stress in the host is detected, the phage enters its reproductive cycle.. Antonym: virulentVirulence is a term used to refer to either ::the relative pathogenicity :or ::the relative ability to do damage to the host of an infectious agent. Virulent bacteriophage Virulent phage infect their bacterial hosts and lyse them after intracellular propa phage.

ClimateThe climate is the weather averaged over a long period of time. A descriptive saying is that "climate is what you expect, weather is what you get". The IPCC glossary definition is: : Climate in a narrow sense is usually defined as the “average weather”, o
