Tarland is also home to the Culsh Earth House, a Iron Age below-ground dwelling that otherwise known as a Souterrain. Souterrains were used to store food and the Culsh Earth House probably served as a community cellar.
Tarland is also home to the Tomnaverie Stone Circle a 4000-year-old recumbent stone circle that was recently restored with the aid donation from the MacRobert Trust who owns the land and is in the care of Historic Scotland. It can be located just south of Tarland.
