A Text Mode Demo Compo (TMDC) is a very strange and interesting competition to create the most eye pleasing text mode demo.

The TMDC is special because text mode is not ordinarily the kind of environment a person usually associates with eye candy, but with the TMDC, that's exactly what you get. Using only software rendering, the demos created for this competition employ any number of 3d sequences, plasma effects, and any other cool graphical toy they can cram into their computer.
