KMFDM's 1997 album is catalogued as Symbols, but going by its cover, the true title is a string of five non-alphabetic symbols——presumably a self-parody of KMFDM's by-then-entrenched tradition of naming their albums with five-letter titles. marked the introduction of Tim Skold. While his contribution to this album was merely as a guest, he would eventually become a full-fledged member and remain so for years to come.
