KMFDM's 1997 album is catalogued as Symbols, but going by its cover, the true title is a string of five non-alphabetic symbols——presumably a self-parody of KMFDM's by-then-entrenched tradition of naming their albums with five-letter titles.
marked the introduction of Tim Skold. While his contribution to this album was merely as a guest, he would eventually become a full-fledged member and remain so for years to come.

- Sascha KonietzkoSascha Konietzko (born June 21, 1961) is a member of industrial rock band KMFDM, having founded the group with Udo Sturm in 1984. He is the only member of KMFDM to appear on every album.
