Suzuki Umetaro (鈴木梅太郎, April 7, 1874September 20, 1943) was a Japanese scientist. When researching the effects of rice bran in curing patients of Beriberi, he discovered and received patent rights to aberic acid, which later became known as Vitamin B1.
