The Suzuki SV650 motorcycle was introduced in 1999 as Suzuki's low end entry in the emerging naked bike market and met with immediate success. With a reasonable MSRP of $5799 in the US the bike is easily available to a wide range of buyers and provides a sporty but not extreme ride for the money. Two versions are being produced, the basic SV650 with no bodywork and the SV650S with a small fairing and lower bars for a more sporty ride. The bike is very popular with amateur racers due to its low cost and relative simplicity. The SV650 has a big brother in the form of the SV1000 .
