Sussex is a particularly famous street in the capital, as it is home to the Prime Minister's residence at 24 Sussex Drive. It is also home to the Governor-General's residence at Rideau Hall and Ottawa's former city hall on Green Island. The building includes the Karsh-Masson Gallery .
Also located on Sussex are a number of embassies such as those of France and the United States, Major's Hill Park, the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian War Museum, the Royal Canadian MintThe Royal Canadian Mint produces all of Canada's circulation coins, and manufactures circulation coins on behalf of other nations. The Mint designs and manufactures: collector coins; gold, silver and platinum bullion coins; customized medals, tokens and t, Rideau Falls Park , one of the first National Research Council of CanadaThe National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is the country's leading organisation for scientific research and development. NRC was established in 1916, mainly to advise the government. Then, in the early 1930s, laboratories were built in Ottawa. NRC gre buildings, and Foreign Affairs CanadaForeign Affairs Canada is one of the most powerful departments in the Government of Canada setting Canadian foreign policy and diplomacy. The department is headquartered in the Lester B. Pearson Building in Ottawa. FAC was created in 2003 from the former. The building has a beautiful view of the Ottawa river, and has been loved for ages. Touring is not available; in fact, entry is only permitted by invitation of the Prime Minister.
