Stuart Christie, Scottish Anarchist is most notorious for his part in the Spanish resistance to the dictator Franco: he was arrested in 1964 carrying explosives to assassinate 'El Caudillo'. Sentenced to twenty years, he served three, being released due to international pressure. On his release he continued his activism in the Anarchist movement, founding the Anarchist Black Cross and Black Flag with Albert Meltzer, being acquitted of involvement in the Angry Brigade and then starting the publishing house Cienfuegos Press.

An updated version of his autobiography Granny Made me an Anarchist has recently been published.
